Born February 12, 1954 in Washington D.C.. Traveled the United States in the 70's living in Florida, Maine and California and finally Washington State.. In 1983, I apprenticed with a master willow basketmaker in England, Where I learned the cultivation and preparation of the willow plant in addition to the fine art of basketry. I Began working with glass in 1988, working with traditional furnace blowing techniques. Around the same time, I also began flameworking, beginning with Italian softglass. In time the diversity of glass led me to other avenues, borosilicate goblets, paperweights, marbles, vases and figurines. |
