ORIGINS

Anatoli was created in 1986 by Cathleen and Kostas Michalopoulos. Students in Europe and avid travelers, they first began working with jewelry several years earlier, while researching architecture in Asia Minor. There they met a family of goldsmiths and began a collaboration.

Their love of art, history, culture, and architecture found full expression in jewelry design. The combination of their aesthetic with expert craftsmanship resulted in a distinctive look that yielded great success – first in Europe, and then in the U.S. when introduced in New York in 1987.

They have since expanded their production network to incorporate the talents of the finest artisans from many parts of the world. Over the last twenty years, Anatoli designs have enjoyed an enormously strong following, unrestricted by traditional boundaries between fine jewelers, galleries, museum stores, boutiques, and fashion majors.

DESIGN

We strive to create classically beautiful jewelry that transcends the currents of trend. We seek to instill the beauty of the cultures that inspire us: Classical Greece and Rome; the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires; 17th Century Russia; and European wrought-ironwork and architectural detail. We draw on these sources to enrich our work, to make it distinctive and special, but with a blend of modern sophistication. We create jewelry to be treasured and to last, that women feel beautiful in and love to wear.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Our designs are crafted in sterling silver and 14 karat gold by the finest artisans of many parts of the world. Handmade chain, exquisite detail, and intricate weaves in metal are complemented by freshwater and Tahitian pearls, and semi-precious stones. Some items are created overseas, incorporating unique and traditional workmanship. Others are made entirely in our own studios. All Anatoli jewelry undergoes final finishing and inspection in-house.

We are proud to draw your attention to the slight variations which appear in each handmade Anatoli piece. These distinctions add special character and individuality to our pieces, and differentiate our work from mass-produced, factory-made jewelry.

We insist on the finest materials and workmanship. Each and every piece of Anatoli jewelry is carefully finished and inspected before it leaves our care. We fully stand behind our work. Additionally, our staff of jewelers is available to perform customer repairs.
